Chocolate Balsamic Chili

2 large onions, diced

2 tbsp The Shoreline Vine Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 lb ground beef, ground turkey or any meat of your choice

1/3 cup The Shoreline Vine Chocolate Di Torino Dark Balsamic Vinegar

Sea Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 15 oz cans diced tomatoes

4 cups assorted canned beans (black, kidney, great northern etc.) rinsed and drained

1 1/2 cups V8 tomato juice

2 tbsp chili powder

2 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp ground cumin

1 bay leaf

Drizzle The Shoreline Vine Chipotle Infused Olive Oil (optional)

Add sour cream, chives, cilantro, avocado or cheese over top

In a dutch oven or large pan, sauté the onions in olive oil over medium-high heat; until translucent. Add the ground meat and brown it. Once the meat is broken up, add the balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the juices have almost evaporated and the meat is evenly browned. Add the tomatoes, beans, tomato juice, chili powder, paprika, cumin and bay leaf. Stir until fully combined. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to a low simmer for about 25-30 minutes. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Drizzle the chipotle infused olive oil and top with your favorite toppings, if desired.
